Meghan Festa

Meghan Festa is the Graduate Education Coordinator at Interior Alaska AHEC. She grew up in New York and has been a resident of Fairbanks since 2011. She attended Keuka College in her home state, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication followed by a Master’s of Science in Management. Shortly after graduation, Meghan moved to Fairbanks and fell in love with the community and the beauty of Alaska. When she is not working, Meghan enjoys coaching classes at SunDog CrossFit as a Level 1 Crossfit Coach, or staying busy with her dogs and loved ones while exploring Alaska. Karen Lapp

Karen Lapp, Interior Alaska AHEC’s Student Rotation Coordinator, is a multi-generational Fairbanksan. She brings her deep ties to the community and experience in local healthcare into her work with students.
At her previous job, Karen worked in the Administration department of the largest multi-specialty clinic in Alaska. During her time there, she met AHEC students and staff, and realized that her interest lay in medical education. She is excited about the chance to see parts of Alaska she hasn’t seen yet, meet and work with new people, and watch healthcare workforce development grow and succeed.

Mari Selle

Mari Selle is the Director of the South Central AK AHEC and manages clinical rotations for the south central region. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Alaska and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon. She has worked in both public and private sectors of healthcare for the past 15 years, and has great interest and passion for health care quality. When Mari is not busy chasing down her young children, she enjoys volunteering at her church, participating in Anchorage East Rotary, and soaking in the Alaskan outdoors. Susan Jones

Susan Jones is the Training Coordinator for the Yukon Kuskokwim Area Health Education Center located in Bethel, Alaska. She was born and raised in Bethel where she had the opportunity as a high school student to participate in AHEC. Now as an AHEC employee, Susan contributes back to the community in assisting students with their educational and professional goals. Lauren Kelly

Lauren Kelly is the Director of Northwest AHEC center in Alaska which include the North Slope, Kotzebue and Nome. Lauren has lived and worked on the North Slope since early 2013 and has been at Iḷisaġvik College since mid-2015. Iḷisaġvik is Alaska’s only Tribal College and part of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC). Born and raised in Southern California, she has lived and worked in Arizona, Illinois, Georgia and now calls Alaska home. She has spent more than 20 years as a psychotherapist and is dedicated to helping others not only explore their career options but hopefully find their vocation as a healthcare professional. Lauren holds a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Ministries and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both Georgia and Alaska. Linda Stangl

Linda Stangl is the Administrative Assistant for the Alaska Area Health Education Center Program office & UAA Alaska Center for Rural Health & Health Workforce located in Anchorage, AK. She has been in Alaska since 1992. She attended UAA as a Management Information Systems student and graduated with BBA in 2007. She assists with the AHEC program.
